Golden landmark on royal couple's big day

AS the nation gets ready to watch the royal wedding, a Swansea couple have a celebration of their own.

Clive and June Thyer, of St Thomas, will celebrate their golden wedding anniversary on the same day.

The retired couple married at Swansea Guildhall in 1961.

They will celebrate their special day in the Dockers Club surrounded by family including two sons, five grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Mrs Thyer said: "It's lovely to share our special day with the royal wedding."

"We will most probably watch the wedding while we celebrate our anniversary."

Mr Thyer worked as a construction worker before retiring, while Mrs Thyer worked at the Lingard sewing factory.
