Vailima Tennis Academy back from NZ tour

By Niccola Hazelman-Siona

14 members of the Vailima Tennis Academy (VTA) have recently returned following a very impressive finish at the PBEC JUNIORS OPEN Tournament in Gisborne, New Zealand.
The Poverty Bay East Coast (PBEC) Tennis Tournament is held every year and Samoa has participated for the last eight years.

Team Coach, Yvonne Carruthers said the aim of taking a team to compete is to boost tennis. ?This tournament is very good for the development of young tennis players and the development of tennis as a sport in Samoa? ?It gives the players exposure to outside competitions and what they can achieve?
