National Sevens Coach Stephen Betham has made one change to his squad for this weekend?s IRB Sevens Series in Las Vegas. Levi Asi Fa?amatala is being replaced by Paul Perez, who joined the team in Vegas earlier this week.
Speaking from Las Vegas, Betham says, Day One of the tournament is very important to the team. ?It?s a must win situation for Samoa, and we have to make the quarterfinals,?he says.
?It?s a tough pool against New Zealand, and Australia who is at present ranked higher than us on the tournament table, but it does not mean we are going to underestimate Japan, we are focusing first against Japan.? Samoa, ranked 6th from 8th after the Wellington Sevens, is determined to make the top five before the last half of the IRB Series.
