Samoa wins Muay Thai test in NZ

(PR) - While Samoa was concentrating on the Wellington 7s last Saturday,  Muay Thai history was being made by a group of brave Samoans. A five-man team from Samoa defeated four New Zealand fighters in the first ever Muay Thai boxing test  in Auckland, New Zealand.

The team under the guidance of trainer, Mike Ah Kau, was invited to take part in a Muay Thai tournament held at the AMI Netball Stadium on the North Shore in Auckland. 

Supported on fight night by a very large and vibrant Auckland-based Samoan community, the team battled its way through four extremely hard fought bouts to win three and lose one on New Zealand soil.
