Alasdair Strokosch set to miss rest of Scotland's Six Nations campaign

? Flanker fractured his hand in defeat to Wales
? Gloucester forward could be sidelined for six weeks

The flanker Alasdair Strokosch could miss the rest of Scotland's Six Nations campaign with a fractured hand, the Scottish Rugby Union have announced.

The Gloucester forward Strokosch suffered the injury in Scotland's 27-13 loss to Wales at the Millennium Stadium on Sunday and was examined by his club's medical team.

The Scotland team doctor, James Robson, said: "Recovery from such an injury takes typically between four to six weeks."

The Six Nations is due to conclude on 17 March, when Scotland are away to Italy.

Scotland are waiting for news on the wing Max Evans, who was forced off with an ankle injury and left Cardiff on crutches and wearing an immobilising boot. He was sent for a scan when the team returned to Edinburgh on Monday afternoon.

Robson added: "Max will be seen by the specialist ankle surgeon John McKinley at Spire Murrayfield hospital today and we will await a further update later this week."
