Long queues by motorists have resurfaced at petrol stations in many parts of the country, as the nation?s fuel stocks continues to deplete on daily basis.
In Kano and Kaduna, most of the petrol stations that dispense fuel were selling above the government regulated price of N97 per litre. Also in Abuja long queues were witnessed in most of the stations that dispense the fuel to motorists.
Last Thursday the Executive Secretary of the Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA) Reginald Stanley warned of impending fuel scarcity from any moment as he said the marketers are not importing fuel due to the lack of funds from the banks. Stanley told the House of Representative ad-hoc committee investigating the management of subsidy that the country may face serious fuel scarcity because banks were sceptical of granting fuel importers fund due to removal of fuel subsidy.
