France calling Perez

Not being named in the 12 man travelling squad of the Manu Samoa Seven?s does not worry speedster Paul Perez. In fact he already has plan B. When the official squad was named yesterday, Perez was included but as a non-travelling reserve, something Perez knew was going to happen following his ban from entering New Zealand.

?I?m actually happy,? said Perez.
?I know I?ve also made another player happy as well, I?m going to France now to take up my contract with Castres.?

Perez?s replacement Levi Asifaamatala will now feature in Wellington and Las Vegas for the next two legs of the IRB HSBC Seven?s circuit.
?I was supposed to leave for my contract with Castres two weeks ago but I really wanted to play Sevens for Samoa which was why I stayed.?
