Sevens blow as Treviranus signs with London-Irish

Manu Samoa Sevens has been dealt another huge blow. Powerhouse Ofisa Treviranus has signed a contract with English team, London Irish and will miss the rest of the IRB Sevens Series. Coach Stephen Betham confirmed this yesterday.

?It?s a big loss, not only experience-wise but much of our game plan hinged on Ofisa and Alafoti but it?s come to be expected,? he said. ?We expected it and it?s time for these other guys to step up.? Coach Betham says losing Treviranus is a huge blow. But he is hopeful.

?At the moment we have Falemiga, he?s almost there, he?s trying his best and he?s coming along well. This is really his first whole season with the Sevens and he?s picked up really fast. We hope that he will be the one that covers that hole.?
