Manu Samoa has another new coach. He is Stephen Betham, the hugely successful coach of the Samoa Sevens team. Betham replaces Adrian Thompson of Australia who was originally mooted as the coach. The appointment was confirmed yesterday afternoon in a statement from the Samoa Rugby Union.
It said; ?At its meeting on Monday 16th April 2012 the Samoa Rugby Union Board appointed Mr Stephen Betham as Head Coach of Manu Samoa and Mr Namulauulu Sami Leota as Team Manager of Manu Samoa.
?The appointment of Stephen Betham as Head Coach resulted from the preferred candidate Mr Adrian Thompson not being able to meet the Samoa Rugby Union?s requirement that the head coach resides in Samoa.
