Vice President Mohammed Namadi Sambo yesterday summoned security chiefs to an emergency meeting in the wake of violence that erupted in Kaduna State and Damaturu in Yobe State.
Violence erupted in some parts of Kaduna State of which the death toll in Sunday?s multiple bombing and consequent reprisal attacks is said to have risen to 74, and on Monday fresh attacks were reported in Damaturu.

According to him, ?we want leaders to be proactive, we want church leaders to be proactive, we want youth leaders to be proactive to make sure that what you call reprisal doesn?t make sense to anybody.
?What we need to do is to be mindful that look, somebody is killing somebody in Zaria and you are retaliating somewhere in Zonkwa that is criminality.
?Things happen but as a nation, as a people we must address situation not necessarily by killing each other.?
Azazi said the meeting with Sambo has resolved to bring religious leaders to a round table to dialogue on ways to discourage their adherents from indulging in violence.
Azazi dispelled reports of a possible declaration of emergency rule in Kaduna.

Azubuike Ihejirika, Chief of Air Staff AVM Mohammed Umar, Inspector General of Police Mohammed Dikko Abubakar and the Chief of Staff to the president Mike Ogiadhome.
