A TEENAGE motorist has been beaten and robbed as he sat in his car outside a food takeaway.
The 18-year-old victim was set upon near the Subway sandwich shop on Uplands Crescent, Swansea, after two men approached his vehicle.
Police said the assailants began shouting at the teenager and demanding money, and then punched him several times in the face.
As the victim tried to drive away the attackers reached in and grabbed the ignition keys, and in the ensuing struggle they stole his iPhone mobile phone.
Officers are appealing for anybody who saw the attack on the teen in his blue Vauxhall Astra to come forward.
Detective constable Anthony Davies from Swansea Central CID said: "This incident happens in broad day light in a very busy shopping when there would have been a lot of people in the vicinity.
"People might have also noticed that during the incident the Astra rolled forward and was stopped partially blocking the carriage way on Uplands Crescent.
"I would appeal to anyone who was in the area and witnessed the incident or can assist with the identity of the males to come forward."
The incident happened at around 2.15pm on Tuesday.
Police have issued descriptions of two men they want to talk to about the robbery, and have released a CCTV image in the hope members of the public will be able to identify them.
The first man is described as white, aged between 20 and 30, around 5ft 8in, and of a skinny build. He was wearing a blue jacket and a baseball cap.
The second is white and of a similar age, a little shorter in height at around 5ft 6in tall, and of a stocky build, with fair hair. He was wearing a checked beige jacket.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or can identify the suspects is urged to come forward.
