The hearing of two female police officers accused of causing grievous bodily harm has been referred to the Supreme Court.
If convicted, the charge carries a maximum penalty of seven years in prison.
Sergeant Sefo Moalele and Constable Ferila Papali?i are accused of beating 45-year-old mother Fa?asalafa Sione.
They are accused of striking Mrs Sione on the face with a stick shaped like a bat at the Police Station at Lalomanu in January 2011.
