Gold theft nets a prison term

A senior store officer at a local jewelers shop has been sentenced to two years and four months in jail for theft as a servant. Priscilla Laikum, 30, pleaded guilty to all 46 charges.

It was confirmed in court that the stolen jewelry was estimated to be worth in excess of $40,000. These included gold braclets and rings as well as gold necklaces and pearls. She had also stolen $200 cash.
