South Africa's financial markets are liquid and continue to function despite the global turmoil stemming from debt concerns in the US and Europe, the Treasury and the Reserve Bank said on Monday.

In a joint statement, the institutions said they remained confident in the economic growth and fiscal projections set in the national budget in February and were ready to take action to ensure stability and liquidity in markets. - Reuters
