A group of parents have joined the call for society to do away with what?s been termed the ?smacking culture? within schools in Samoa. The parents who spoke to the Samoa Observer say the practice of ?assaulting children? under the guise of discipline, ?has been going on for too long.?
The issue was raised with parents after a school teacher pleaded guilty to the assault of an eight-year-old girl, who later died from heart complications.
