Masoe tops lifesaving

By Niccola Hazelman-Siona

The Samoa Aquatic Center was the place where the skills of lifesavers were put to the test, during the weekend.
Some 27 Australian-qualified Samoan Life Savers took on the Surf Life Saving Championships.

In the end, 21-year- old, Andy Masoe, from Asau, was the winner. Mr Masoe, who works for Va-i-Moana Resort, his sponsor, says he was interested in the life saving progamme because of the nature of his work.

?Working in a resort is fun and I enjoy my job but so many things can happen,? he says.?I wanted to join the programme in case of an emergency, like a tsunami or the risk of drowning and any other problem that may happen.?
