Samoans recruited to work overseas are not slaves. So says outspoken Member of Parliament, Levaopolo Talatonu. His comments follow claims that workers from Samoa were allegedly threaten with deportation by New Zealand company, CMP Rangitikei meat processing.
The MP believes whoever is responsible for recruiting the workers should be held accountable. The Government has denied any involvement with CMP Ranitikei.
