Samoa kicks Cook Islands

Samoa drew first blood in their opening match against the Cook Island yesterday beating them 3 ? 2. This game was considered by many to resemble that of a finals match and rightly so as both teams poured blood and sweat into it.  The first half was brutal as Cook Islands struggled to withstand the onslaught of the host team, Cook Islands coach Shane Rufer agreed.

?Samoa physically smashed us in the first half? he said ?Potentially I made the mistake of having too many ball players in the team and not enough fighters? A clearly frustrated coach Rufer said that despite his teams efforts to play in the end some careless mistakes cost them the game.
