Miss Hawaii: from military to pageant

Miss Hawaiian Islands, Kawena Kamalamalamaonalani Souza, says she?s a tomboy at heart.  Her friend introduced her to the Miss Hawaiian Islands pageant. It was a spontaneous decision. ?I never saw myself as a pageant person, and I?m actually a real tomboy.?

Miss Souza who is here to compete for the Pure Pasifika Miss South Pacific Pageant this weekend, aims to showcase Hawaii to the Pacific. ?I love my Hawaiian culture and any chance to promote that is great.
