"We would support SMEs by abolishing business rates for most, delivering universal broadband coverage, developing a retail strategy and re-drafting the planning process.

"We would create enterprise zones to encourage large companies and publish a manufacturing and technical innovation strategy.

"A strong private sector will underpin and protect the public sector.
