Drunk abuse leads to fine

A CARMARTHEN man, found in an intoxicated state by police behind the town's market, became abusive, magistrates heard.

Karl John Foreman, 33, of Brewery Road, admitted using threatening behaviour on December 15 when he appeared before Llanelli magistrates last Wednesday.

Prosecuting, Sian Vaughan said that, when police arrived, Foreman's mood seemed to continually alter from apologetic to abusive.

After swearing at the officers and offering to "take them on", he was arrested.

He later said he had taken amphetamine.

Defending, Richard Morgan said Foreman had apologised for his behaviour.

He added: "He has had a long-standing battle against alcohol, it got the better of him on this occasion."

Foreman was fined 100, and was ordered to pay costs of 85 and a 15 victim of crime surcharge.
